Syracuse, NY (WSYR-TV) - Many will be out on New Year's Eve and some are choosing to head over to the newly-renovated Hotel Syracuse for its first New Year's bash in over a decade.
"We had been preparing and planning prior to opening the hotel," said Paul McNeil, General Manager.
On Friday, staff was putting the finishing touches on the ballroom, one of the three locations where people will be able to celebrate. More than 700 people will be throughout the hotel ringing in the New Year.
"We want to create memories, so going all out, if you're making reference to New Year's Eve, it's going to be a first-class event," said McNeil.
While in the kitchen, hotel staff are focusing on prep. They have sixteen hours of chopping vegetables, finishing sauces, and getting everything they need for three separate extravagant menus inspired by old Hotel Syracuse menus, from back in the 1920s.
"Good food is good food, you can run with it at almost any time if you just kind of twist it and turn it towards today's palette," said Tom Kiernan, Executive Chef.
With dish after dish of good food, forty cases of wine and champagne, staff says it's bound to be a party for the ages.
