SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Funeral services will be held Monday for a Tully woman and her five-year-old daughter who died when their vehicle ended up in a pond last week.
The services for Melissa Avery and Maryssa Houston are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday at Farone and Son Funeral Home on Park Street in Syracuse.
Police say Houston, her 26-year old mother, and Avery's aunt 34-year-old Jamie Bell were last seen alive around 5 p.m. Monday night, in a gray Ford Explorer, on their way to a barbeque.
They were reported missing later that night.
On Tuesday, police sent out an alert for help finding the family. They got a tip from someone who said they remembered seeing the car near a pond on Gatehouse Road.
A trooper drove to the area and discovered a damaged sign near the pond before noticing the rack on top of the vehicle just under the surface of the water.
Hours later, the bodies were identified through the medical examiner's office.
A memorial service for Bell was held Saturday at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Homes.
