Grammy-winning pop star Daya to perform at NYS Fair

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Pop star Daya is bringing her Grammy-winning talents to the Chevy Court stage at the Great New York State Fair for a show on Tuesday, August 29 at 8 p.m.

The 18-year-old from Pittsburgh, PA is known for her singles, “Hide Away,” and “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” each delivering a message of female empowerment that marked Daya as a breakout artist to watch.

She later collaborated with The Chainsmokers in “Don’t Let Me Down,” which went #1 on pop radio and earned Daya her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.

“Our Chevy Court lineup this year looks to be not only the most diverse in our history but also one of our very best. I urge fans of pop music to make time to see Daya, especially young women who can see a positive role model who sings about being yourself and taking control of your own life.  It’s a wonderful message and we’re really fortunate to be able to bring it to the Fair,” said Acting Director Troy Waffner.

The show takes place on the second Senior Day, which is also Fire and Rescue Day.  All senior citizens and emergency services workers with identification are admitted free of charge.
