MATTYDALE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - You're not likely to hear any complaints about the newest upgrade to the Hollywood Theatre in Mattydale.
Owner Conrad Zurich has replaced the 400 old movie house seats with 200 plush, leather recliners.
"Because this was my first theater and because I love this theater especially, because it was my first... I didn't really think just in monetary terms, I wanted to give something back to the area and put something in really special so people can really enjoy the movies." Zurich tells NewsChannel 9.
He bought the Hollywood Theatre nearly 50 years ago while he was a law student at Syracuse University.
"I just think the comfort of the seat; the site lines to the screen are fabulous. There's no obstruction to the screen and it’s comfortable for all ages and then the reclining aspect where you have comfort on your back and also on your legs is just absolutely incredible."
The new design leaves nearly 6-feet in between rows, giving you the feeling of kicking back in the comfort of your own living room.
Zurich says, "It gives me pleasure to let people come in and enjoy the show for a bargain price."
The Hollywood Theatre offers top titles about four to six weeks after they're first released.
The price of a ticket is $3 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Thursday the cost drops to $2.
