Investigation leads to large meth lab bust in Madison County

3 arrested after early morning raid in the City of Oneida

ONEIDA (WSYR-TV) - Three people have been arrested after an early morning meth lab bust in the City of Oneida.
 
A SWAT team raided a home on Washington Avenue around 4 a.m. Friday. They found significant evidence of an active meth lab on the second floor.
 
The joint investigation by the Madison County Sheriff's Office and Oneida Police lead to the arrest of 41-year-old John Whaley, 34-year-old Kelly Franklin and 29-year-old Patrick Crane all of Oneida.
 
Each was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
 
Both Whaley and Franklin are facing various other charges, while Crane was released on an appearance ticket.
 
Investigators discovered that Whaley and Franklin were also involved in another meth lab incident earlier this summer. They were arraigned in Oneida City Court this morning.
 
Additional charges are pending laboratory examination by the NYS Police Crime Lab.
