Ithaca Police cracking down on distracted driving

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Ithaca Police Department will have extra patrols out during the month of February to crackdown on distracted driving.

Distracted driving laws cover the use of a cell phone without a hands-free device while operating a motor vehicle, or using any other electronic devices that allows you to browse the Internet and/or receive and send emails or text messages. 

Drivers ticketed for these offenses face a fine of up to $150 and three points on their license.
