Jamesville-DeWitt girls repeat as New York State Champions

The Jamesville-DeWitt girl's basketball team is once again the best in New York State, after beating Pittsford Mendon 48-46 in the Class A Final.

The Red Rams won it all last year as well.

J-D trailed by 5 entering the second half, but opened the third quarter on an 18-3 run, before holding on for a tense finish.

Pittsford Mendon had a chance to tie the game with 3 left to play, thanks to an inbounds underneath their own hoop. The Rams' Julia Kelner blocked the game-tying attempt though, as J-D survived.

Kelner finished with 11 points for the champs, while Meg Hair added 12.
