For the first time in program history the Le Moyne men's basketball program is headed to the Elite Eight. The Dolphins won their first DII East Region Championship Tuesday night, defeating Bloomfield 75-59.
Leading 54-53 with five minutes to play, Le Moyne went on a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach.
Senior Tanner Hyland led the way for the Dolphins, pouring in a game-high 17 points.
Robert Jones III added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Jones was named tournament MVP.
Former Nottingham standout Tyquan Rolon chipped in 11 points in the Dolphins win.
Le Moyne has won a program record 27 games.
The Dolphins advance to their first ever Elite Eight to face West Texas A&M University.
Le Moyne will square off with West Texas A&M on March 20th in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
