Lights on the Lake set to return for a 28th season at Onondaga Lake Park

The first two nights of the event are just for walkers

LIVERPOOL (WSYR-TV) - Lights on the Lake returns to Onondaga Lake Park on Monday, Nov. 13 for its 28th season.

But no cars will be allowed until Wednesday. 

The first Monday of the event is reserved for walkers, who prefer to stroll through the park during the light show between 5-9 p.m.

Visitors can bring along their pups for the Lights on the Lake Dog Walk on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

There is a suggested $2 donation for both walking days, with proceeds benefiting local charity groups. 

Families may notice a new penguin scene this year, a star arch, a rocking horse and a poinsettia display.

On Nov. 15, vehicles can zip through the park for the first time this season.

Wednesday's opening night will be free for veterans, active or retired, who bring a military I.D..

Families can drive through the show from 5-10 p.m. each night until Sunday, January 7.

The price of admission at the gate is $10 per car Monday through Thursday or $15 per car Friday through Sunday. 

Discounts are available for visitors who show a Wegmans Shoppers Club card on Monday or Tuesday.

Plus, advance sale tickets are discounted and can be used any night, but they are only available until Nov. 14 at Wegmans.
