Local shop printing official Trooper Davis memorial decals

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - As friends, family and people from all over the state prepare to pay their respects to New York State Trooper Joel Davis, one design shop is looking to help honor him.

KDM Kustoms in Watertown is making official Trooper Davis memorial decals— ones that other troopers are putting on their vehicles.

Trooper Davis was killed Sunday night when responding to a domestic call.

The owner of the shop says once they got approval Monday, they have been working around the clock making the decals.  They are taking donations from people looking to pick one of them up and so far, they say the demand has been huge.

"Troopers out of state have taken 30, 40, 50 at a time.  But we tried to limit the quantity down to get everybody served and they are welcome to come back and get more, but at the time we have lines out the door.  Everything that comes in goes directly into the jar for the family and the children.  We’re excepting zero money— it's all donations,” said Jeff Shannon of KDM Kustoms.

So far, over 12,000 decals have been printed.
