NEWARK, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - A 23-year-old Newark woman was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation initiated by Wayne County Child Protective Services.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says Kaitlyn Brazo's live-in boyfriend, Brandon Morris, physically injured Brazo's 11-month-old son on two separate occasions. The baby suffered injuries to his back causing bleeding, and later scaring on several areas of his back.
Brazo allegedly knew that Morris caused the injuries and failed to report it to police or seek medical attention for the injuries.
Deputies say Brazo failed to protect her son from further injury and allowed Morris to continue to care for him while she was not home.
Brazo was arraigned and charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the Village of Newark Court, and was released to reappear at a later date.
Morris was arrested on May 12 for the assault on the baby.
An order of protection was issued to protect the baby.
