DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - High-tech company Nexgen now has the green light to move into a $90 million facility originally intended for "Soraa," which would add 290 jobs in the DeWitt area.
The Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency says the move was slowed down while Nexgen awaited a $15 million state grant.
"It's a godsend for the area. We're talking 290 jobs -- high-tech jobs and once more this will be another outpost on the Thruway to make that Thruway a high-tech corridor,” said Patrick Hogan, the OCIDA chair.
Nexgen plans to renovate some areas of the building.
Hogan says he is confident the company will be up and running in the next six months.
