Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 shut down

Technicians working to identify source of vibrations

TOWN OF SCRIBA, N.Y. - Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 was shut down Saturday due to unknown vibrations on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
 
The unit has been out of service since 9:00 a.m.
 
Technicians are working to identify the cause of the issue and make necessary repairs.
 
The outage will not impact electrical service to customers, according to a spokesperson for the company.
