ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - They've become so popular even kids are flying drones, but for a small group of teens out in Oneida County, they're more than just toys.
The week-long Drone 2.0 camp at Griffiss International Airport wrapped up with an obstacle course, putting their skills to the test.
"It’s great if you're good at it because you can put it exactly where you want it and it makes you feel really good when you nail some good obstacles,” said Deven Draper, who has taken the course for a second year.
The final day of the camp was about flying, but the course this week gave these teens a taste of just about every aspect of drone technology
“We got to build our own drone and fly it, we got to see someone fly a racing drone,” said first-year participant Noelle DiRuzzo.
