Onondaga County Sheriff's Office clears up details surrounding serious motorcycle crash

TOWN OF SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has released information on an accident that left one woman seriously injured after she fell off her motorcycle.

On July 14, deputies say Robert Castle and his passenger, Danielle Castle, were riding a motorcycle in the Town of Salina on Seventh North Street when the accident occurred.

Deputies say Danielle fell off the left side of the motorcycle as it was in motion. Her lower body was caught underneath the rear tire before ejecting her completely off the motorcycle and onto the pavement.

A second motorcyclist in the group was riding behind the Castle’s. The driver was unable to avoid striking Danielle and their motorcycle.

NewsChannel 9 received multiple emails about the accident. The Sheriff’s Office says witnesses saw Danielle Castle fall off her motorcycle prior to being struck.

Robert Castle and the driver of the second motorcycle were not injured in the incident.

Robert Castle was issued a ticket for operating out of class.
