SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is crediting viewers and On The Lookout with helping deputies in an investigation that resulted in a huge seizure of heroin and a stolen Cicero Police gun and vest.
Last month, we put you On The Lookout for a man caught on a security camera trying car door handles in a North Syracuse neighborhood.
“We were able to identify the suspect based on several calls we received from viewers from On The Lookout, who identified the individual as Alexander Delpriore. From there, deputies were able to locate him,” said Sgt. Jon Seeber with the Sheriff’s Office.
The identification and arrest of 22-year-old Delpriore led to something much bigger, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant Wednesday evening at 315 Spring Street in the City of Syracuse, following a several week long investigation into stolen property and drug activity.
A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of approximately 100 bags of heroin, as well as a stolen gun and ballistic vest from a Cicero Police sergeant.
Delpriore was charged in connection with the recovered property, which was reported stolen from the sergeant’s car last month.
The other ballistic vest recovered belonged to a Sheriff’s Office employee, which was also reported missing earlier this year.
The investigation also led to the arrest of 27-year-old Nissan Ratchford.
Ratchford was charged with multiple counts of drug possession and criminal possession of stolen property.
