Oswego Police: No charges after schools placed on 'lockout' last week

Oswego, NY (WSYR-TV) - Oswego Police say no one will be charged after all seven of its school buildings were placed on “lockout” last Thursday.

Police say the situation was investigated and a student involved was identified.

The student was fully cooperative with investigators and after consultation with the Oswego County District Attorney’s office it was determined that the image of a student with a gun may have been suspicious, but there were no direct threats made or intended.  The suspicious image was observed on social media and reported to school district officials.

Following the investigation, the student was released.

Police say all actions taken by the department and the Oswego City School District were precautionary and they do not believe at any point in time students were in any imminent danger.
