Plans for new casino in Bridgeport to be discussed at public meeting

BRIDGEPORT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A public meeting will be held on Monday night regarding the future of Route 31 in Bridgeport— including the planned Point Place Casino run by the Oneida Nation.

The Sullivan Town Supervisor will have a presentation at the meeting organized by the Bridgeport-Lakeport Civic Organization.

The casino announced last month will be just over the Onondaga County line on Route 31 and it will have 500 slot machines and 20 gaming tables. It will also be smoke-free.

The Oneida Nation expects 200 people to work there when it opens next spring.

Monday’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Bridgeport firehouse on Route 31.
