Police make arrest in weekend triple shooting on Lodi Street

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Syracuse Police have made an arrest following a triple weekend shooting that occurred on Lodi Street.

Early Saturday morning, three 30-year-olds were shot in the 200 block of Lodi Street.

One victim, a 34-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and is listed in serious condition. He is expected to survive his injuries.

A 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were also shot. They were treated and released from the hospital.

The victims left the scene in a private vehicle to go to the hospital for treatment, without reporting the incident to police.

Detectives have arrested 29-year-old Courtney Burton in connection with the incident.

Burton was charged was with first-degree assault, two counts of attempted first-degree assault, second-degree criminal possession of a machine gun and first- and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

His photograph is being withheld while detectives continue their investigation and attempt to locate any additional witnesses.
