SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Homeowners could see an increase in their National Grid bill, but before the proposal is approved by the state they want your input.
The State Public Service Commission is hosting two meetings open to the public before they make their decision.
That meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 31st at Nottingham High School. A brief presentation will be given by a National Grid representative to explain the proposed changes.
The information sessions are at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Following both sessions, a public hearing will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. where people can voice their opinions about the proposal.
The gas and electric company plans to increase the cost of delivery charges, which would go into effect next April. If you get both utilities from National Grid, that could add approximately $18 to your monthly bill.
However, National Grid has said that cost increase will vary from household to household.
