Recess Coffee named exclusive State Fair coffee shop

Cafe will be set up just inside main gate and behind Chevy Court stage

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - One of Central New York's favorite coffee shops will be front and center at the Great New York State Fair.

Recess Coffee will be the exclusive coffee shop, positioned just inside the Main Gate and right behind the Chevy Court Stage.

Recess Coffee Wholesale Associate and Communications Coordinator Cathy Roosa says, "They reached out to us about The Fair so they really do want us to be who we are."

So classics like the Nutella Latte and The Crazy Latte will be available at The Fair, but so will some new, exciting menu items.

Recess Coffee Food and Bakery Operations Manager Teresa Martini tells NewsChannel 9, "We will be doing a bacon maple shake with local maple syrup that's pretty exciting.  We will be offering an affogato sundae with our espresso and locally made donut, local maple syrup, bacon and a really exciting breakfast sandwich."

Roosa adds, "This is a really exciting opportunity for us to really show what we can do to the rest of the state."

Recess Coffee is the brainchild of Central Square's Paul V. Moore High School friends Jesse Daino and Adam Williams.

The pair started with a small coffee shop almost 10 years ago in the Westcott neighborhood of Syracuse.

"The growth has been exponential in the last two years." Martini says.

In the last few years Recess Coffee has opened a second cafe on Montgomery Street next to Syracuse City Hall.

They also have a roasting lab and production facility near Carrier Circle now nearly three years old having outgrown the first two spaces for this work.
