Retrial begins for Oneida County woman accused of poisoning boss

UTICA (WSYR-TV) - Kaitlyn Conley, the 24-year old Sauquoit woman accused of poisoning her boss in 2015, has started her retrial.

A jury couldn't reach a unanimous decision during Conley's first trial back in May.

She's facing a second degree murder charge for the death of Mary Louise Yoder, who owned a Chiropractic office in Whitesboro. Conley spent four years working for Yoder.

“Mary Yoder died of colchicine poisoning. That’s true,” Frank Policelli, Conley's new defense attorney said in his opening statement. “It’s the only thing that can be proven in this case.”

Oneida County Assistant District Attorney Laurie Lisi offered another viewpoint.

"All roads lead to Kaitlyn Conley," Lisi said in her opening statement.

Witnesses during Monday's testimony included Yoder's daughter and E.R. doctor.
