ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Former Syracuse doctor Robert Neulander is attempting to have his 2015 murder conviction thrown out, and his new counsel appeared before courts in Rochester on Wednesday.
Neulander is asking for the conviction to be thrown out based on four key points: misconduct by the juror who was texting about the case during the trial with family and friends, insufficiency of the evidence, prosecutorial misconduct by the DA during closing arguments, and ineffective assistance of counsel from his trial lawyer Ed Menkin.
Menkin sat down with NewsChannel 9 on Wednesday to discuss his time representing Neulander.
