UPDATE: Rochester woman mauled by dog did not have arm amputated

The dog was shot and killed, his owner was also struck by a bullet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) -
The Rochester Police Department has issued a retraction, saying a woman mauled by a dog early Wednesday has not had her arm amptuated.
 
The RPD says the information was recounted incorrectly, and they are regretful of the error.
 
Police say that 33-year-old Mariah Schaffer is in guarded condition at Strong Hospital.
 
Police say the dog attacked her at outside a home on Rockview Terrace.
 
Police shot and killed the dog.
 
34-year-old Jamie Cruz, the dog's owner, was hit by one of the bullets.
 
He is also in guarded condition.
 
No charges have been filed at this point.
