Rome man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of a child

ROME (WSYR-TV) - A Rome man has been arrested after Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say he sexually abused a child earlier this month.

According to investigators, the abuse took place in the City of Rome in early February 2017. 

Anthony C. Breton, 18, has initially been charged with one count each of sexual misconduct, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child. 

Breton is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court on these charges on March 14, 2017. 

Investigators say additional charges against Breton are possible. 

The juvenile victim has been offered counseling through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
