Salina man admits to recording child porn by telling victims he was a 16-year-old boy

SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - A Salina man has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child on Wednesday, admitting to persuading young girls to perform sexual acts on camera by telling them he was a 16-year-old boy.

28-year-old Charles Poltenson admitted to recording three minor children engaged in sexually explicit content over a three-year period. 

The recordings occurred from 2014 to 2016 when the girls were between the ages of 10 and 15. Poltenson was 24 to 26 at the time, but claimed he was 16 years old. 

Poltenson will be sentenced on April 13, 2018. 

He faces a mandatory minimum prison term of 15 years on each count and a maximum of 30 years per count. It is not known if he will have to serve those sentences concurrently or consecutively. 

Poltenson must also register as a sex offender.
