Scammers pretending to be Apple may call you

WSYR-TV - Many viewers have contacted the Your Stories team, wondering if calls they were getting from the Apple store at Destiny USA were fake.

Many of you have said that the Syracuse store is calling you, saying that your Apple ID has been breached.

This is a scam; the Destiny Apple Store even issued a recording for customers about these unsolicited calls.

The recording, in part, says:

“Apple is aware that some customers are receiving unsolicited calls claiming to be from this apple store. If you receive an unsolicited call, you shouldn't provide any information to the caller.”

If you get these calls, do not give out any personal information.

If you have already given out personal information, the Apple Store is recommending that you call your local police department to report that you’ve become a victim of fraud.
