St. Patrick's Parade events kick off Sunday at Kitty Hoynes

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse St. Patrick's Parade Committee will host the annual parade kick-off celebration at noon Sunday, March, 5, at Kitty Hoynes Irish Pub and Restaurant.

The event will feature entertainment and door prizes as the community prepares for the 35th annual parade. The theme for this year's parade  — “From Eire to Erie: Celebrating the Canal’s Bicentennial” — is a nod to the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal. Marchers will step off at noon Saturday, March 11, from Clinton Square.

Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner will serve as grand marshal.

Also happening to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day are:

  • March 4: 12th Annual Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run
