GEDDES (WSYR-TV) - One caller to the Your Stories line asked when work will begin to build the Expo Center at the New York State Fairgrounds, now the Fair has been over for six weeks.
Fair Spokesman Dave Bullard says:
"The state Office of General Services expects to award the design-build contract sometime in November, with work on the expo center beginning as soon as possible after that."
According to New York State, three development teams from Upstate New York have been selected to respond to a Request for Proposals to design and build it the 133,000 square foot facility.
Construction should conclude by the time the 2018 State Fair opens and is expected to create over 700 construction jobs.
