SU women fall to top-ranked UConn

Storrs, CT (WSYR-TV) - The season has come to an end for the Syracuse University women’s basketball team.  The Orange were beaten by top-ranked Connecticut 94-64 Monday night in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Storrs, Connecticut.

The victory was the 109th straight win for the Huskies, who were led by Kia Nurse who scored 29 points.  Nurse is the niece of former SU quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Alexis Peterson led the Orange with 25 points,  Brittany Sykes had 15 points.

SU finishes its season at 22-11.UConn is going after its fifth straight national championship.
