For the first time in school history the Syracuse Academy of Science girls basketball team will play in the NYSPHSAA Final Four. The Atoms defeated Bainbridge-Guilford 62-57 in the Class C Regional Final.
SAS trailed by one-point entering the 4th quarter but outscored B-G 18-12 in the final quarter.
Former News Channel 9 athlete of the week Lyrik Jackson led the Atoms scoring 20 points.
Syracuse Academy of Science moves on to the NYSPHSAA Class C semifinals to face Section VI champion Allegany-Limestone.
The Atoms will play on March 16 at 11:45 a.m. at Hudson Valley Community College.
