Syracuse IT company named one of CNY's Best Places to Work

ICS expanding Syracuse branch with new offices and looking to hire

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - ICS has been named one of Central New York's Best Places to Work by the CNY Business Journal News Network.

The company has just relocated its Syracuse branch to a new and bigger office in East Syracuse.

ICS currently employs 14 people there and is looking to double that workforce in the next couple of years.

ICS President and CEO Kevin Blake says, "It has evolved to where a company... if their computer systems are down or even their telephone systems are down they're down, if they don't have internet access they might as well send their people home."

Blake says the new East Syracuse office will give ICS the room to expand the business.  He took over ICS in Binghamton about a decade ago when he was one of just three employees.

Now, the company between Binghamton and Syracuse totals 80 people handling every piece of IT work including security, hardware and software.

"The smaller guys its harder for them to turn quick and add that new technology that's required to support their customers."  Blake tells NewsChannel 9.

He adds that ICS is looking to acquire two smaller companies as part of the company's growth.

"And we don't see that stopping.  We have I think four or five jobs open right now.  We anticipate this growth in Syracuse, which has been 20 percent year over year, to continue."

ICS has a client list of about 500 businesses stretching across Central New York down to Northern Pennsylvania
