Syracuse Jazz Fest celebrates 35 years

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Carrie Lazarus looks at a historic moment on the Central New York cultural scene in "Jazz Fest at 35." 

Take a look back at the history of the Syracuse M&T Jazz Fest with founding executive director Frank Malfitano, who pulled the first Jazz Fest together in the early 1980's. 

The show also reviews the line-up of national acts (including Todd Rundgren, the Mavericks, and Asleep at the Wheel) and regional artists. 

Carrie profiles the community partnerships formed to help celebrate this big birthday, including exhibits at Onondaga Historical Association and Onondaga Community College.
