Syracuse neighbors woken up by early morning gunfire, loud party

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Neighbors called 911 early this morning to report the sound of gunfire and a loud party happening along the 800 block of Lancaster Avenue in Syracuse.

It happened in a neighborhood about a half-mile from the Syracuse University Campus just after 2:30 a.m. where Syracuse police focused their investigation.

One neighbor tells NewsChannel nine he looked out his window after hearing four gunshots and saw many people running from a house where he says a "loud party" was happening.

The neighbor also stating he saw shell casings in the street.

Police say there have been no reported injuries.

At this time, police are looking for a suspect described as a black male carrying a black backpack.
