Officers investigating death of pedestrian overnight on N. Salina Street

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - When Syracuse Police arrived to investigate reports that a pedestrian was hit by a car early Saturday morning, the driver said he didn't see the man laying in the street until it was too late.

Officers were sent to the 300 block of North Salina Street just before 1 a.m., where they found the 30-year-old victim, still conscious. He died two hours later at the hospital.

Police say they won't release his name until family is notified.

They've interviewed several witnesses and say any others with information can call the Syracuse Police Traffic Section at (315) 442-5130.
