Syracuse Police investigate two shootings in the city

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse Police Department responded to two shootings on Thursday night.

At 9:18 p.m., Officers responded to the 1300 block of W. Onondaga Street for a reported shooting.

When Officers arrived they found one male shooting victim, who was shot in the chest, was being transported to Upstate Hospital. The male had several small wounds to his chest. His injury does not appear to be life threatening.

Officers believe that the suspect possibly left in a white Chevrolet Impala style vehicle.

An hour later, at 10:24 p.m., Officers responded to S. Salina Street near W. Ostrander Avenue for a reported shooting. 

When Officers arrived they found a 23-year-old male who was shot in the wrist and groin area. He was transported to Upstate Hospital. He is currently listed in serious condition, but the injuries do not seem to be life threatening at this time.

A dark grey 2-door sedan was seen in the area prior to the incident, but witnesses are not sure if it was related.

There is nothing to indicate that these shootings are related at this time.
