The Conversation: NewsChannel 9's Sydney Chalifoux discusses her family history with breast cancer

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Breast cancer can be a scary thing-- especially knowing you're at a higher risk for getting the disease than most people your age.

Carrie Lazarus sat down with NewsChannel 9 reporter Sydney Chalifoux, who is all too familiar with breast cancer.

Sydney's mother, aunt and grandmother all had the disease. At age 16, Sydney was diagnosed with juvenile papillomatosis, which, along with her family history, puts her at a higher risk for getting the cancer.

At age 24, Sydney is vigilant in getting ultrasounds and screenings to make sure if she has anything, that it's detected early.
