CAYUGA COUNTY (WSYR-TV) - The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office has upgraded their travel advisory to a travel ban for areas currently under a heavy band of lake effect snow stretching across Auburn and Cayuga County.
All roads are closed except for essential travel and for emergency personnel.
The ban has been issued due to high winds and blowing snow reducing visibility significantly.
Roads are limited to travel by citizens to and from work that is necessary for health and safety.
The ban remains in effect until 6 a.m. on Thursday.
