Two concerts draw record crowds to Chevy Court

GEDDES, NY (WSYR-TV) - Lynyrd Skynyrd took the stage at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The band announced it would be performing less than ten days before its performance, after rapper, and Syracuse native, Post Malone cancelled his show in early August.

The Skynyrd show broke the record for the largest crowd ever for an afternoon show at Chevy Court with 28,400 fans.

Earth, Wind & Fire drew an even larger crowd late Sunday evening with an estimated turnout of 29,900 fans.

Some concertgoers say they had been waiting at Chevy Court since 8 a.m.

The two concerts drew crowds that helped break the all-time single day attendance record with 123,206 entering through the gates.
