Madison County pair killed in crash on Route 20 in Herkimer County

Town of Warren (WSYR-TV) - State Police in Herkimer are investigating a deadly three vehicle crash on State Route 20 in the Town of Warren in Herkimer County.

Police say around 12:15 p.m. Sunday,  a 1996 Dodge van was stopped on Route 20, trying to make a left turn into a driveway,  when a 2003 Honda Motorcycle, towing a trailer, rear ended the van.

The driver of the motorcycle, Douglas A. Woolsey and his passenger, Theresa A. Woolsey were both ejected from the motorcycle. The force of the crash forced the van into the eastbound lane where it struck a 2004 Jeep, driven by Bruce H. Vanbrink from Cooperstown, NY, and overturned onto its roof.  

Theresa Woolsey, 46, and Douglas Woolsey, 50, both from Brookfield, NY, died in the crash. 

Bruce H. Vanbrink, age 56, from Cooperstown, NY was transported to Bassett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the Dodge van, Jonathan A. Neitzey, age 23, from Bowie, Maryland was transported to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY with minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
