What brings people to the Fair on the final day?

GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - Thousands and thousands of people flocked to the State Fairgrounds on Monday for their last chance at food and drink, shopping, and everything in between.

"The rides, and I like to see the bunnies and pet them and feed the giraffes," says Matthew Wutsch who comes to the Fair every year with his grandma.

For most families, it's their normal Labor Day Weekend plan this year with a few tweaks.

"It's fun because it's different and it's all new," says Fair-goer Harry Henderson.

They say the Midway is where they're seeing the most positive changes. It has more space and more seating than ever before.

"I love the change. We're always dragging a wagon or a stroller and making your way through some of these paths have always been very congested is tough," says Mike Cazzolli, father of two. "This year and last year, it's completely different. It's wide open so for me I love the change. I think it's a big improvement."

Fair enthusiast Cheryl Cimino adds, "I think it's great. It's so much more spread out. I remember years we all came- 4 or 5 strollers- and we were elbow to elbow. It's great this year."

Those families hope the new layout will stick around for years.
