Where to get free cervical cancer screening tests

WSYR-TV - January is National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and Onondaga County is offering free screening services for women ages 40 to 64.

All women are at risk for cervical cancer, but it commonly occurs in women over the age of 30.

Approximately 12,000 women in the United States will develop cervical cancer each year.

The best prevention for cervical cancer is the HPV vaccine and regular screening tests like the Pap test and HPV test.

The Onondaga County Cancer Services Program will offer screenings for women who do not have health insurance or are experiencing other issues in completing their screening services.

Those interested can call 315-435-3653 or visit the Cancer Services Program website here.
