Will Syracuse police add a camera near Townsend and James Streets?: Your Stories

SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - Convinced she's noticing more crime near Townsend and James Streets in Syracuse, a NewsChannel 9 viewer wonders if police will install a camera in the neighborhood.

Syracuse Police Department spokesman Rick Helterline says he's not aware of plans at the moment.

But, he says the department does consider complaints from neighbors, call volume, and the type of calls they get when deciding where new cameras should be placed.

Common Councilors at City Hall would have to approve funding for more equipment.
