SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - If you get a postcard from National Vehicle Protection Services, take a close look at the small print.
A NewsChannel 9 viewer in Baldwinsville got a postcard in the mail, suggesting her factory warranty is expiring and NVPS needed an immediate response to extend coverage.
A closer look reveals the company is not the vehicle manufacturer.
Plus, the viewer's son says she hasn't even had a car for several years.
According to their website, the Better Business Bureau in Missouri gives the company a "C" rating because of dozens of complaints from people claiming they were misled, sometimes with harassing phone calls. Some say they had difficulty cancelling contracts and getting refunds.
