SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) - After decades of finding registration renewal notices in the mail, a NewsChannel 9 viewer says the notice didn't arrive at his home this year.
"Rick" wants to know if New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is still sending them.
According to a DMV spokesman:
DMV sends registration and license renewal reminders to our customers both electronically and through the mail. There are no plans in place to stop this practice. These reminders are automatically sent out electronically when we have an email address or phone number on file 30, 60 and 90 days out. In cases where there is no email address or phone number on file, reminders are sent out through the mail. All DMV customers have the option to receive paper reminders through the mail if that is their preference.
