Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Local salons are stepping up to help out customers left out of luck when Best and Company Salon in Camillus filed for bankruptcy.

NewsChannel 9 reported on Wednesday that Best & Company Salon had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Federal Court.

Since then, two salons say they are willing to honor Best & Company gift certificates.

Carlo’s Salon at 1110 West Genesee St. in Syracuse will accept 100 percent of the gift certificate’s amount in services at their salon.

In addition, Carlo’s Salon is inviting any hairstylists who were let go when Best & Company abruptly closed to visit them.

Soigne Salon in DeWitt is also offering Best & Company customers some help.

Soigne Salon – located at 3470 Erie Blvd. E. – will offer customers 50 percent of the gift certificate’s amount.

Court documents obtained by NewsChannel 9 reveal that Best & Company Salon has a large debt and many clients listed are people who bought gift certificates.

Those customers were all mailed notices explaining how they can get a form from the court to establish proof that they are owed money. The deadline for filing is June 16.
