2 sailors injured when drone crashes into Navy ship

Two sailors were injured when a drone malfunctioned and crashed into a US Navy ship off the coast of Southern California.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Two sailors were injured when a drone malfunctioned and crashed into a US Navy ship off the coast of Southern California.

According to CNN, the sailors were treated for burns.

The ship, the USS Chancellorsville, was testing weapons.

The Navy is investigating the incident.

The ship sustained some damage and was set to return to San Diego for evaluation.

Last week, a drone crashed into Lake Ontario.

No one was injured and the drone was not armed during the Lake Ontario incident.

Drones that are based in Fort Drum and operated by personnel at the 174th Attack Wing at Hancock International Airport are permitted to fly over multiple Central New York counties – including Onondaga, Madison, and Oswego counties.
