24 bowling lanes coming to Destiny USA

Destiny USA says it is putting a new twist on an old favorite in its latest entertainment offering at the mall expansion.
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Destiny USA says it is putting a new twist on an old favorite in its latest entertainment offering at the mall expansion.

Crews are working toward an August opening for Revolutions, an upscale bowling alley inside the mall that will feature 24 lanes.

The facility will be more than a bowling alley – it will include a restaurant, a bar, and an arcade.

"At any given time the 24 bowling lanes at least half of them would be open to the general public, where the other half are adaptable for private parties, birthday parties, corporate events,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Revolutions Adam Marinelli

Destiny officials say Revolutions only adds to its other offerings and helps draw different groups in to the mall.

"We're marketing constantly to Canada. We have somebody who's going out to a receptive tour show in England later this week for a four or five day trip there. We're traveling the country making sure people know where we are and what it is we have to offer,” said Destiny General Manager Rob Schoeneck.

Revolutions says there is a good reason why it’s taking up about 55,000 square feet on the third level of Destiny.

Marinelli says the facility will have state-of-the-art audio and enough separation so that the noise from the bowling area won’t affect those dining in the restaurant.

“At any given time of the night, you can have different audio visuals, so back there they could be watching a sports game, like an SU basketball game,” said Marinelli.

They have not determined how much they’ll charge for bowling.

They expect to announce prices closer to the opening date in mid to late August.

Destiny officials say it will coincide with the openings for Dave and Busters and Texas de Brazil, which are also aiming for late summer.
