SYRACUSE (WSYR-TV) - The 3rd Annual Air-1 Foundation Poker Run was held on Saturday.
The fundraising ride, sponsored by Waves Ambulance, is part of the year-round-effort to keep the Air-1 Helicopter flying. It routinely assists police, fire and EMS throughout Central New York.
Most recently, it helped put out wildfires in Lafayette and tracked down the man who allegedly attacked and killed school librarian Lori Bresnahan in the Town of Clay.
"It was the forward looking infrared system looking in those woods that found the suspect fleeing, assisting the State Police in the capture of that particular person,” said Onondaga County Undersheriff Warren Darby.
All funds raised from the Poker Run benefit the Air-1 Foundation.
