Arizona fugitive arrested in the town of Clay

An Arizona man wanted for a host of crimes in his home state was taken into custody in the town of Clay on Wednesday morning.
Clay (WSYR-TV) – An Arizona man wanted for a host of crimes in his home state was taken into custody in the town of Clay on Wednesday morning.

Local police – including US Marshals, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies, and State Police – converged on a location in the Liverpool area to arrest a man who they believed could be armed and dangerous.

Law enforcement agencies in Yavapai County in Arizona were looking for 21-year-old Kyle Ritter in connection crimes including burglary, aggravated assault, misconduct involving a weapon, assisting in a criminal street gang, attempted theft, and interfering with judicial proceedings.

US Marshals said that Ritter had no ties to Central New York, but told a childhood friend he would be visiting.

They say the friend was unaware that Ritter was wanted for crimes in Arizona.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Town of Clay Court on Wednesday morning.
